Roca Group guarantees its customers that the materials used in production come from responsibly managed forests

Roca Group, a family-owned Spanish company and world leader in the design, production and merchandising of products for the bathroom space, has obtained the Chain of Custody (CoC) certification according to the standards set by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC®), reaffirming its commitment to sustainability and the environment. This certification promotes sustainable forest management that is simultaneously economically viable, socially beneficial and environmentally sound.

The CoC certification examines and verifies the traceability of the materials which come from forests, guaranteeing the responsible use of forest resources which later are used in the production of various consumer goods. The CoC is a voluntary evaluation process to which companies can submit themselves with the aim of reinforcing compliance with certain traceability requirements. As a result of this process, Roca Group can assure its customers that the materials it uses in its production processes comes from sustainably managed forests, thus contributing to their stewardship.

The implementation of the CoC system assures the functioning of a responsible forest management model. Roca Group will for that reason also increase the proportion of FSC® certified products it purchases, helping to fight against illegal logging and to raise awareness about the importance of natural resources.

The company enlisted the collaboration of Coordina, a Spanish consulting and management services company, to facilitate the development and maintenance of its CoC system, which culminated with its certification by FSC®, audited by AENOR.
