The Eiffel Tower, built by French engineer Gustave Eiffel for the 1889 Paris Universal Exposition, receives 7.1 million visitors a year, making it the world’s most visited admission-charging monument. Roca products were chosen to equip the bathrooms of the Eiffel Tower’s refurbishment project, led by the architectural studio Moatti et Rivière.
The Tower has been re-painted several times since the initial construction. The original colour during creation “Venetian Red”, was a bright red. In 2014, with the remodelling focused mainly on the first floor, Venetian Red was used as the central theme of the project. According to the architect Alain Moatti, the choice of Roca was backed up by the values of design, technology and quality, as well as by the high resistance of Roca products which make them ideal for installation in public spaces with a high influx of visitors.
